Feb 11-14: Translation & RNA

Feb 14: Students in periods 1 and 5 predicted the expected results of the RNA Isolation lab and then analyzed results provided by Mrs. Annee before submitting their labs for grading.  Students in period 7 continued working on the RNA Isolation lab protocol. 

Feb 13: Students in periods 1 and 5 completed the RNA Isolation lab protocol and loaded gels.  Students in period 7 began the RNA Isolation lab protocol. 

Feb 12: Students in periods 1 and 5 began the RNA Isolation lab while students in period 7 were given a quick introduction of the lab due to the early dismissal of school. 

Feb 11:  Students completed the “Introns, Exons, Oh My!” activity to understand why it’s possible to skip reading frames when mining for the amino acids that comprise a polypeptide chain.  Mrs. Annee continued the Unit 4 notes by discussing translation.
