March 16-20: Meiosis, Proteins, & Mendelian Genetics
Fri, Mar 20: Students took a self-quiz in preparation for Tuesday’s Unit 3 quiz over the cell cycle and meiosis. Students in periods 1 and 3 learned about X-linked inheritance whereas students in periods 5 and 7 went over the answers to the X-linked practice problems.
Thurs, Mar 19: Mrs. Annee went over the answers to the dihybrid and polyhybrid cross practice problems. Students completed and submitted the Electrophoretic Separation of Proteins lab. Periods 5 and 7 were introduced to X-linked inheritance.
Wed, Mar 18: Mrs. Annee went over the answers to the monohybrid cross practice problems and then gave notes over dihybrid and polyhybrid crosses.
Tues, Mar 17: Mrs. Annee discussed Mendelian Genetics and Monohybrid Crosses (Unit 5 notes) and the Isoelectric Point of Proteins. Students completed the Exploration of Isoelectric Point Internet assignment. Periods 3 and 5 prepared, loaded, and ran a gel for the Electrophoretic Separation of Proteins lab.
Mon, Mar 16: Mrs. Annee discussed the remainder of Unit 3 notes over meiosis and announced that a Unit 3 quiz would take place on Tues, March 24.
