Fri, Feb 4: Students in periods 2 and 6 analyzed their GM Foods gels while students in periods 4 and 8 extracted DNA from food samples for the GM Foods lab.

Mon, Jan 31: Students in periods 2 and 6 completed an online tutorial about PCR while students in periods 4 and 8 conducted an online tutorial about PCR and DNA profiling.

Jan 24-28: PCR

Fri, Jan 28:  Periods 2 and 6 ran gels for the GM Foods lab while Mrs. Annee gae the pre-lab lecture for the GM Foods lab in periods 4 and 8.

Thurs, Jan 27:  Periods 2 and 6 conducted the GM Foods lab while students in periods 4 and 8 completed the “PCR, DNA Sequencing, and NBCI – What a BLAST!”

Wed, Jan 26:  In periods 2 and 6, Mrs. Annee gave a pre-lab lecture for tomorrow’s GM Foods lab.  In periods 4 and 8, students completed an online PCR tutorial.

Tues, Jan 25:  Students took the DNA Sequencing quiz and completed the PCR activity.

Mon, Jan 24: Mrs. Annee reviewed for the DNA Sequencing quiz and students continued the PCR activity.

Jan 17-21: DNA Sequencing

Fri, Jan 21:  Students began a PCR activity.

Thurs, Jan 20:  Students finished the activity, “Assembling a DNA Sequence” and Mrs. Annee announced that there will be a DNA Sequencing quiz on Tuesday.

Wed, Jan 19: Students began the activity, “Assembling a DNA Sequence.”

Tues, Jan 18: Mrs. Annee discussed DNA Sequencing and students completed the Internet assignment, “Black, Green, Blue, and Red:  The Colors of DNA!”

Mon, Jan 17: No School.

Jan 10-14: DNA Sequencing

Fri, Jan 14:  Students completed the Internet assignment “That BLASTn DNA!”  In periods 2, 4, and 8 students obtained DNA sequence data from an electropherogram.

Thurs, Jan 13:  Students analyzed data collected from autorads.

Wed, Jan 12: Students watched Test Tube Babies and will post an online reflection by Wed, Jan 19.

Tues, Jan 11:  Students obtained DNA sequence data from an autorad.

Mon, Jan 10: Students finished the Sanger DNA Sequencing activity.
