Fri, Feb 25:  Mrs. Annee reviewed for next Wednesday’s PCR & GM Foods quiz.

Thurs, Feb 24:  Students participated in a small group scored discussion about GM foods.

Wed, Feb 23:  Mrs. Annee discusussed restriction enzymes and students completed the DNA Scissors activity.

Tues, Feb 22:  Students completed analysis of the Restriction Enzyme lab.

Mon, Feb 21:  Mrs. Annee continued discussing the Restriction Enzyme lab.

Feb 14-18: PCR, GM Foods, & Restriction Enzymes

Fri, Feb 18:  Students loaded their restriction enzyme gels and Mrs. Annee discussed restriction enzymes in greater detail.

Thurs, Feb 17:  Students conducted research in preparation for next week’s GM foods small group scored discussion.

Wed, Feb 16:  Students began the restriction enzyme lab.

Tues, Feb 15:  Students conducted research in preparation for next week’s GM foods small group scored discussion.  Students in periods 4 and 8 also worked on completing the GM Foods lab analysis questions.

Mon, Feb 14:  Students in periods 2 and 6 finished King Corn, while students in periods 4 and 8 analyzed their GM Foods gels.  Students in all classes completed “The Case of the Druid Dracula.”

Feb 7-11: PCR

Thurs, Feb 10 and Fri, Feb 11:  While Mrs. Annee attended HASTI, students watched King Corn in preparation for an upcoming bioethics debate about GM foods.

Wed, Feb 9:  Students in periods 4 and 8 loaded their GM Foods gels.  Students in period 2 began the case study, “The Case of the Druid Dracula” while students in period 6 completed he online activity, “PCR and DNA Profiling.”

Tues, Feb 8:  Students in periods 2 and 6 completed the online activity, “PCR, DNA Sequencing, and NCBI – What a BLAST!” while students in periods 4 and 8 prepared their PCR tubes for the GM Foods lab.

Mon, Feb 7: Students in periods 2 attempted the online activity, “PCR and DNA Profiling.”  Students in periods 4, 6, and 8 began the case study, “The Case of the Druid Dracula.”
