Fri, Feb 3 – Students analyzed gels for the restriction enzyme lab.

Thurs, Feb 2 – Students prepared and ran gels for the restriction enzyme lab.

Wed, Feb 1 – Students completed the GM Foods small group scored discussion.

Tues, Jan 31 – Students in periods 4 and 6 finished watching King Corn.  Students in all classes begin the restriction enzyme lab.

Mon, Jan 30 – Mrs. Annee returned the PCR & GM Foods lab quizzes and students continued watching King Corn (periods 2 and 8 finished the movie).

Jan 23-27: GM Foods

Fri, Jan 27: Students continued watching King Corn.

Thurs, Jan 26: Students took the PCR & GM Foods Lab quiz and began watching King Corn. 

Wed, Jan 25: Students completed research about GM Foods in preparation for next week’s Small Group Scored Discussion.

Tues, Jan 24: Mrs. Annee completed the review for Thursday’s quiz and students conducted research in preparation of the GM Foods Small Group Scored Discussion.

Mon, Jan 23: Mrs. Annee reviewed for Thurdsay’s PCR & GM Foods Lab quiz.

Jan 16-20: PCR & GM Foods

Fri, Jan 20:  Mrs. Annee announced a quiz over PCR and the GM Foods lab will take place on Thursday, Jan 26.  Students completed the GM Foods lab.

Thurs, Jan 19:  Students prepared and ran gels for the GM Foods lab.

Wed, Jan 18: Mrs. Annee discussed the GM Foods lab.

Tues, Jan 17: Students in periods 2 and 4 completed the Virtual Lab, “PCR, DNA Sequencing, and NCBI – What a BLAST!” while students in periods 6 and 8 prepared PCR tubes for the GM Foods lab.

Mon, Jan 16: No school.

Jan 9 – 13: PCR

Fri, Jan 13:  Students in periods 2 and 4 completed an online simulation of PCR while students in periods 6 and 8 completed the paper PCR activity.

Thurs, Jan 12:  Students in periods 2 and 4 completed the paper PCR activity while students in periods 6 and 8 continued to work on it.

Wed, Jan 11: Students watched Test Tube Babies and are required to post a reflection by Wednesday, Jan 18 at 11:59 pm. 

Tues, Jan 10: Students began the paper PCR activity.

Mon, Jan 9:  Students in periods 2 and 4 ran PCR for each of their GM foods samples.  Students in periods 6 and 8 completed the “DNA Sequencing, PCR, and NCBI – What a BLAST!” virtual lab.
