Jan 25-29: Beta-testing

Mon, Jan 25 (Day 4): Students conducted “Investigation 1” of a beta-test.

Tues, Jan 26 (Day 5, 2-hour delayed opening): Students analyzed data for Investigation 1.

Wed, Jan 27 (Day 1): Students wrote a protocol for Investigation 2.

Thurs, Jan 28 (Day 2): Students completed Investigation 2.

Fri, Jan 29 (Day 3): Students evaluated the Beta-test.

Jan 18-22: DNA Sequencing & Beta Testing

Mon, Jan 18: No school.

Tues, Jan 19 (Day 5): Mrs. Annee announced a quiz over DNA sequencing will take place Fri, Jan 22 (28 points) and reviewed for the quiz.

Wed, Jan 20 (Day 1): Students completed “Assembling a DNA Sequence.”

Thurs, Jan 21 (Day 2): Students began a beta-test of a lab.

Fri, Jan 22 (Day 3): Students in periods 2, 6, and 8 took a quiz over DNA sequencing.

Jan 11 – 15: DNA Sequencing

Mon, Jan 11 (Day 5): Mrs. Annee gave notes about automated sequencing and students read an electropherogram.

Tues, Jan 12 (Day 1): Students completed the assignment, “Black, Green, Blue, and Red: The Colors of DNA!” and cut out paper strips for “Assembling a DNA Sequence”

Wed, Jan 13 (Day 2): Students began watching, “Do You Really Want to Know?”

Thurs, Jan 14 (Day 3): Students finished watching, “Do You Really Want to Know?”

Fri, Jan 15 (Day 4, altered schedule): Students conducted a pilot test.

Jan 4-8: DNA Sequencing

Mon, Jan 4: No School

Tues, Jan 5 (Day 1): Mrs. Annee returned the final exams.  Students began the Sanger Sequencing activity.

Wed, Jan 6 (Day 2): Students completed the Sanger Sequencing activity.

Thurs, Jan 7 (Day 3): Students read an autorad and Mrs. Annee gave notes about DNA sequencing.

Fri, Jan 8 (Day 4): Mrs. Annee completed the notes about Sanger sequencing.  Students completed the assignment, “That BLASTn DNA!”
