Mon, Mar 27 (Day 1): Students began Lesson 3 of the “Restriction Digestion and Analysis of Lambda DNA Kit.”

Thurs, Mar 23 (Day 4): Students began conducting research for the “Prenatal Diagnosis of Minor Genetic Mutations” activity.

Wed, Mar 22 (Day 3): Students completed Lesson 1 of the “Restriction Digestion and Analysis of Lambda DNA Kit.”

Tues, Mar 21 (Day 2): Students completed the “Sickle Cell: Are you a Carrier?” lab and began the “Bioethical Issue: Prenatal Diagnosis of Minor Genetic Mutations” activity.

Wed, Mar 15 (Day 3): Students completed the Chromosome 16 questions.  Ms Annee announced a quiz will take place over pedigrees, X-linked traits, and the Chromosome 16 lab next Mon, Mar 20.

Tues, Mar 14 (Day 2): Ms. Annee went over answers to the pedigree practice problems.

Mar 6 – 10: Human Genetics

Fri, Mar 10 (Day 1): Students analyzed their Chromosome 16 gels.

Thurs, Mar 9 (Day 5): Students ran gels for the Chromosome 16 lab and Ms. Annee taught students how to analyze pedigrees.

Wed, Mar 8 (Day 4): Students ran PCR for their DNA samples (Chromosome 16 lab).

Tues, Mar 7 (Day 3): Students began the Chromosome 16 lab by extracting DNA from their cheek cells.

Mon, Mar 6 (Day 2): Students completed the Stickleback activity and Ms. Annee discussed X-linked inheritance.
