  2. Study the following gel:

          Why are the wells in the middle of the gel?

          The pH of the buffer in the chamber is 8.6.  Let’s assume that the red protein is protein #1 and the blue protein is protein #4.  What is the charge of each protein?  Which protein has the highest isoelectric point?  Which protein has the lowest isoelectric point?
