Fri, Apr 28 (Day 4): Students completed the “Analysis of a Mutant Hemoglobin Gene” lab.

Thurs, Apr 27 (Day 3): Students completed the size exclusion chromatography lab.

Wed, Apr 26 (Day 2):  Students completed the mutations Internet assignment.

Tues, Apr 25 (Day 1, altered schedule): Students learned about mutations and loaded gels for the “Analysis of a Mutant Hemoglobin Gene” lab.

Mon, Apr 24 (Day 5): Students finished the “Analysis of a Genome Segment” lab.

Apr 17-21: Restriction Enzymes

Fri, Apr 21: Students began watching the film, Rare.

Thurs, Apr 20 (Day 3): Students took a quiz over the lambda lab and restriction mapping.

Wed, Apr 19 (Day 2, delayed opening): Students wrote their final reflection about prenatal diagnosis and continued working on their “Exploration of Restriction Enzyme” handout.

Tues, Apr 18 (Day 1): Students participated in a small group debate about prenatal diagnosis.

Mon, Apr 17 (Day 5): Students practiced using semi-log paper in preparation for this Thursday’s quiz and prepared restriction digests for the “Analysis of a Mutant Hemoglobin Gene” lab.  Students also worked on their “Exploration of Restriction Enzyme” handout.

Thurs, Apr 13 (Day 4): Mrs. Annee announced and discussed a quiz that will take place on Thurs, Apr 20 over the Lambda lab and restriction mapping.  Students also continued their research in preparation for a small group debate.

Wed, Apr 12 (Day 3, altered schedule): Students completed the Restriction Mapping Practice Problems and began the “Exploration of Restriction Enzymes” Internet activity.

Tues, Apr 11 (Day 2): Students completed question #2 of the Restriction Mapping Practice Problems and loaded gels for the “Analysis of a Genome Segment” lab.

Mon, Apr 10 (Day 1): Students completed the DNA Scissors handout and question #1 of the Restriction Mapping Practice Problems.  Students also began the “Analysis of a Genome Segment” lab.
