Fri, Oct 1:  Mrs. Annee discussed SDS-PAGE and students finished building the 3D amino acid model.

Thurs, Sept 30:  Students participated in a scored small group discussion.

Wed, Sept 29:  Mrs. Annee discussed proteins (Unit 1 Notes) and then students built a model of an amino acid.

Tues, Sept 28:  Students concluded research about cellulosic ethanol production in preparation for Thursday’s scored small group discussion.

Mon, Sept 27:  Students began research about cellulosic ethanol production in preparation for Thursday’s scored small group discussion.

Sept 20-24: Biofuel Enzyme Lab

Fri, Sept 24:  Students completed the Biofuel Enzyme lab assessment.

Thurs, Sept 23: Students completed Activity 6 of the Biofuel Enzyme lab.

Wed, Sept 22:  Students completed Activity 5 of the Biofuel Enzyme lab.

Tues, Sept 21: Students in periods 2 and 8 completed the Biofuel Enzyme lab assessment for Activities 1-3 and the Activity 4 analysis.  Periods 4 and 6 completed Activity 4 of the Biofuel Enzyme lab.

Mon, Sept 20: Students watched the movie Designer Babies and will post an online reflection by Mon, Sept 27.

Sept 13-17: Biofuel Enzyme Lab

Fri, Sept 17:  Students in periods 2 and 8 completed Activity #4 in the Biofuel Enzyme lab, whereas students in periods 4 and 6 completed the lab assessment for the first three activities.

Thurs, Sept 16:  Students have completed the first three activities in the Biofuel Enzyme lab.

Wed, Sept 15: Students continued working on the Biofuel Enzyme lab.

Tues, Sept 14:  Students completed the Beano lab analysis.

Mon, Sept 13: Students began the Biofuel Enzyme lab (students in periods 2 and 6 completed Activity 1).

Sept 7 – 10: Enzymes

Fri, Sept 10:  Mrs. Annee discussed the Enzyme Fuel Lab.

Thurs, Sept 9:  Students graphed the Beano data.  Mrs. Annee continued discussing Unit 1 Notes (per 2: Proteins; per 4, 6, and 8: Macromolecules).

Wed, Sept 8:  Students completed Part B of the Beano lab.

Tues, Sept 7:   Mrs. Annee continued discussing Unit 1 Notes (macromolecules) in period 2.  In periods 4 and 6, Mrs. Annee began the Unit 1 Notes (cell parts/functions) and students graphed Part A data of Beano.  Period 8 students completed their E-S lab.

Mon, Sept 6:   No School.
