Jan 21-25: Restriction Enzymes & DNA Replication

Fri, Jan 25 (Day 4): Students set up restriction digests for the “Analysis of a Genome Segment” lab and continued working on the Lambda DNA lab.

Thurs, Jan 24 (Day 3): Students took a quiz over DNA structure and continued working on the Lambda DNA lab.

Wed, Jan 23 (Day 2): Students continued working on the Lambda DNA lab.

Tues, Jan 22 (Day 1): Students finished the film, The Gene Doctors, and continued working on the Lambda DNA lab.

Mon, Jan 21: No school

Jan 14-18: DNA & Restriction Enzymes

Fri, Jan 18 (Day 5; Altered Schedule): Students began watching The Gene Doctors.

Thurs, Jan 17 (Day 4; Delayed Opening): Students in periods 3, 5, and 7 watched the TED Talk, “My DNA Vending Machine,” and wrote a reflection.  Students in period 1 did not have class due to a senior class meeting but will complete the “My DNA Vending Machine” reflection for homework.

Wed, Jan 16 (Day 3): Ms. Annee announced and discussed a DNA Structure quiz (22 pts) that will take place on Wed, Jan 23.  She also continued discussing the Restriction Digestion lab.

Tues, Jan 15 (Day 2): Students completed the DNA Structure Tutorial, calculated the time it would take to write the genome, and Ms. Annee began discussion of the Restriction Digestion lab.

Mon, Jan 14 (Day 1): Students completed Lesson 2 of the Restriction Digestion and Analysis of Lambda DNA Kit and worked on the DNA Structure Tutorial.

Jan 7-11: DNA

Fri, Jan 11 (Day 5): Students completed Lesson 1 of the Restriction Digestion and Analysis of Lambda DNA Kit and began the DNA Structure Tutorial.

Thurs, Jan 10 (Day 4): Students continued working with paper DNA models and Ms. Annee gave notes in class about DNA.

Wed, Jan 9 (Day 3): Students continued working with paper DNA models.

Tues, Jan 8 (Day 2): Students continued building a paper DNA model.

Mon, Jan 7 (Day 1, altered schedule): Ms. Annee returned the final exams and students began building a DNA model.
